Conversation on Racism Retreat

  • Retreat House Spirituality Center 110 Mimosa Drive Richardson, TX, 75080 United States (map)

Join Rev. Dr. Clay Brantley and Rev. Dr. Lil Smith on Saturday, January 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Retreat House Spirituality Center for a day of retreat where participants will be given space to process some of the stories that have emerged throughout the past few years.

Walls hold stories. The walls of our homes, our churches, our community buildings, and even the walls of the cells in our bodies. They contain hurts, injustices, stories of oppression, misunderstandings, things that have never been said out loud. Retreat House Spirituality Center invites you to join us for the next installment of our Conversation on Racism Let the Walls Speak the Truth series which is part of our Elephant in the Room series.

What to expect?

Retreat House has been exploring sacred stories and offering participants a space for brave vulnerability so we might better understand ourselves, our histories and the culture we are a part of, with the intention, hope and prayer we might grow closer to healing the racism we have been and are a part of - sometimes even unknowingly.

Whether you have already been part of these conversations or are new to this space, you are welcome!

On January 28, Clay and Lil will host participants for a day of retreat at Retreat House. Participants will be guided through a time of worship, somatic exercises as well as reflection and prayer. Lunch will be served at NOON.
