Join us for author readings and the release of House of Peace, our 12th book in the House of series.
We will have author readings and a program from 3:30 to 5 p.m. with a reception for authors at the house from 5-6 p.m. For those who desire to gather at Retreat House.
Themes explored in this book:
House and Home: What does it mean to feel at home? Is home a building, a place, a community? Is it a relationship with God or Self? What is the relationship between house, home, and memory?
Personal Peace: What does peace mean to you? Is peace a place, a group of people, a state of being? Where do you find peace? What disrupts your peace? How can you find peace in the midst of chaos?
Peace on Earth: What would it be like to live in a world of peace? How can we work towards peace on earth? How can one person take a stand for world peace? Are there places you have been where people live in peace, and why do you think they are able to do this? (with a reminder that we try to stay away from explicit political arguments)
Isaiah 9:6 says, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. . . and his name shall be called Wonderful. . The Prince of Peace.” What does this mean to you? How has the promise of the Prince of Peace influenced your life? (with a reminder that we try to stay with personal narratives and experiences not theological treatises)
