Ep 21: Rediscovering the Wild Christ
In this episode, Rev. Dr .Clay Brantley invites us into his recent three week pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago in Spain. About three days into the trip, he had a vivid dream. His traveling companion in the bed next to him even asked him when he awakened….what was going on with you last night? You were tossing and turning.
In the dream a wild woman appeared. He has seen her before and come to believe she represents the Divine Feminine. Wild is a significant word for Clay. He’s a student in Seminary of the Wild, has had a profound spiritual experience with wild mustangs and talks of the invitation of the wild Christ – an invitation that involves leaving ego behind, letting go of outcomes and allowing the Holy to lead.
Enjoy this conversation with Clay as he takes us into a deeper understanding of how his time on the Camino opened up new awarenesses for him to bring this wild part of him into his everyday life and work and how we might do the same.
Clay Brantley has been a Presbyterian minister for more than 30 years. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, Austin Seminary and Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. Clay has served churches in Malvern, Arkansas as well as Sherman, McKinney, Garland, Whitesboro, and Denton, Texas. Five years ago Clay left parish ministry to follow the call of Christ into a more mystical journey.
