Playing in Water

I used to enjoy as a child

playing in the water

I loved stomping in puddles

Walking in the surf

Jumping in swimming pools

I had no fear of the danger

the water could bring

until I was older

I got caught in the undertow

of a waterfall on a lazy river

churning me up and down a few times

before some unknown angel

reached i to rescue me

I still enjoy playing in the water

even though it can be dangerous

It is so refreshing to walk

in a summer rain shower

with my adult rubber boots on

to stomp in rain puddles

I still love running through the sprinklers

and getting squirted with a water hose

It sweetly invigorates me

body and soul
