Robin Russell

Trained Spiritual Director, Writer, Hospice Chaplain

Robin sees a common thread in her varied careers of being an exceptional listener. Always drawn to the spiritual life,
Robin now adds keen spiritual intuition and contemplative prayer experience to her role as a trained spiritual director.

Robin grew up in four generations of a funeral home family in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has a wry sense of humor
that often comes with acknowledging one’s mortality and working in a newsroom for more than a decade.
She earned multiple awards as a religion writer for several newspapers.

As a hospice chaplain, Robin has been fearless in providing a calm presence and spiritual support for people in
difficult life moments. She now finds great joy in accompanying others on their soul discovery journeys, holding space in
spiritual direction for both holy tears and surprising laughter as people come to know themselves and God better.

She has a BA in journalism from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler
and a certificate in spiritual direction from Perkins School of Theology, which she completed in 2022.
As an active lay leader, Robin has taught classes, led Bible studies, small groups and retreats, and has preached on occasion.
She is a member of Arapaho United Methodist Church.

Robin and her husband, Art, have a son and a daughter-in-love, as well as several rescue pups that are unashamedly spoiled.

“Spiritual direction is an intimate journey that helps individuals know themselves and God more deeply so that they are free to
embrace and live out their true selves in the world.”
