Ep 3: Why Resistance Train?
Imagine being incarcerated. The clanging of cells, the chatter or shouting of other inmates, the sharing of space. All of this creating a cacophony of sounds as your constant backdrop.
How would you keep your calm? Where and how would you find your peace?
In this episode, we are delighted to welcome Seneca Alma. Seneca is a business and social entrepreneur whose passion is providing mental fitness to others.
During his time of incarceration and in the midst of all the noise in that space, discovered meditation.
From this, he developed Resistance Meditation Therapy, or RMT. A model that he has recently brought to the Dallas Police Department as a training resource for their officers. And, quick teaser, is working with Retreat House to tailor a similar meditation for those of us working in soulcare giving roles. So stay tuned for that!
Not of all of us will experience literal prison, but isn’t it true that we find ourselves locked in and limited in various areas of our lives, throughout our lives? The volume and velocity of life can at times and many times feel too loud and too fast.
How might we remain in our body, despite things around us feeling out of control?
Tune into to Seneca’s interview and understand how and why he created Resistance meditations and what he is hoping to bring to others from his experience.
