Tree Rubbing Art
The invitation this week is to create an image from a rubbing of tree bark. You will need a pencil, charcoal, or crayon and a piece of paper. Copy paper works well. Select the area of bark that captures your attention. Place the paper over this area coving the bark. Using the side of the medium, begin to rub the page. Adjust the intensity of the rubbing to get the effect you desire.
Once you finish, begin to gaze upon the rubbing. Turn the page to show you different angles. Notice what emerges on the page. You also might ask the tree what the tree hopes you see in her image.
