In this episode, Podcast Host Emily Turner Watson visits with Rev. Dr. Lil Smith who is one of the founding directors of our community as well as Sandy Centeno. Sandy and Lil met at Perkins School of Theology – lil as an instructor and Sandy as a student.

Sandy was approaching the time in her seminary program where she was looking for a pastoral internship and having already been connected through her spiritual direction training to our community, Retreat House seemed like the right fit. Welcome holy threads and connections.

As an energy healer and spiritual director, Sandy brings a compassionate and personalized approach to her relationships. Sandy spent years as a Montessori teacher where she developed respect and appreciation for allowing children to learn at their own pace. We’re so excited to see how this beautiful skill translates to her work as a spiritual companion in her role as spiritual leader. She has a deep commitment to her own healing journey and desires to help others heal as well. As a seminary student she is combining new knowledge with her already wise approach to life. Her mission is to create spaces so the love of Christ can more fully flow. We are blessed to have her work with us during this season.

This is a first for Retreat House. Sandy is our inaugural intern. She’ll be spending time at the house a few days a week offering programming around art and spiritual direction and energy healing. Stay tuned for those details.
