How Do You Tend Your Garden?

Taste the goodness of homemade food and herbs, feel the cool breeze and the warmth of the sun on your skin, rest in the garden.

Rev. Dr. Lil Smith, founder and director of Retreat House Spirituality Center, invites us to take time to use all of our senses. In June, Retreat House focuses on the significance of cultivating spiritual practices with the hope that our community will more fully awaken to the holy in their lives.

Consider treating your spiritual life like a garden – it requires preparation of soil, continuous tending as well as intentional time and space to add nutrients.

Retreat House creates room for people to grow into their best possible selves:

-          Spiritual Direction and Spiritual Conversations

-          Prayer and Journaling

-          Contemplative Painting

-          Guided Meditations

-          Conversations on Racism (July 6) More information coming soon.

By inviting participants to notice what might need pruning in their life, these activities are just some of the gatherings provided by Retreat House that aid in the cultivation of a spiritual life.

What tendencies or thought patterns in your life might need to be released? What kind of extra time could be carved out for something new, allowing the Holy to emerge in a more vibrant way? What type of joy could God be calling you to?

Each month, Retreat House focuses on one of our core values, and we are delighted to invite you to cultivate with us in June. To discover more about upcoming offerings, visit our Web site where you can register and learn more.

Do you have a personal story of cultivation to share? Send us a note.
